Our Wedding Day
We’re looking forward to spending our special day with you. Here’s how we’re imagining it’ll play out, but you know how weddings go, there are always unforeseen surprises!
The Venue
We’re so thankful to the Kellys for letting us use this awesome space for our special day!
Because of it’s location in Groveland, it’s not necessarily a straight shot to the venue. For whatever reason, Google Maps doesn’t always direct you correctly to this address. What we would recommend would be to follow directions to here (click for link) and then drive down Pablo Island Drive until you reach the venue. We’ll have signs out directing you once you get on Pablo Island Drive.
Our Very Own Love Story
There’s always more to a story, but here’s a brief recap of our relationship’s journey.
WE FIRST MET – SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY!
We met in late 2000 through the young adult ministry at Mosaic Church. Lauren told Keith that she was going to make him be her friend, and that kind of set the mood for their relationship (but don’t tell her I said that).
WE FINALLY WENT ON A DATE – ONLY TOOK A COUPLE OF YEARS!
After being friends for a couple of years, and talking about becoming something more a few times, we decided to take the plunge into a relationship and see where it lead us. And we’re so thankful that we did!
… AND HE FINALLY PROPOSED!
The story for this is actually a little bit funny. Lauren was getting, let’s say “antsy,” about a proposal, so Keith gave her a wedding date instead (January 19th, 2018 – it ends up being our 3 year anniversary). What Lauren didn’t realize was that Keith and her best friend (and Maid of Honor) Laura had already planned out a proposal way back at Thanksgiving. Keith and Laura were going to fly to London and surprise Lauren! After some excellent planning and misdirection by Keith, Lauren didn’t remotely expect that he would be on the Millennium Bridge to propose.
Meet the Team
We realize not everyone may know everyone, so here’s s brief rundown of the people we’ll have standing next to us on our big day.
Laura Cook – Maid of Honor: Lauren & Laura met during middle school volleyball and have been inseparable since. Laura often goes on vacations with Keith and Lauren, and is their professional third-wheel.
Caleb Hoag – Man of Honor: Brother and best friend to Lauren. When Lauren was little she wished for a brother, and at the age of 7 she finally received one. Caleb and Lauren have always been close, and enjoy food and outdoor adventures together.
Jeff Amato – Best Man: Keith and Jeff have known each other for almost 10 years. They became friends through their love of nerd culture and technology, and Keith considers Jeff his relationship advice expert.
James Carbary – Groomsman: Keith has known James for a while now, and grew closer as friends when James moved in with Keith for a few months while James was waiting to get married to Lisa. James is the definition of hustle, and a constant inspiration to Keith.
Fine Details
Got questions? Hopefully we have answers!
While we 100% love your kids, please leave them at home (unless you’re family – you know how it is).
Kind-of? You can just not put meat on your plate.
Excellent question. We have registries at the following:
The ceremony will start at 5pm, with the reception following close behind. It’s a little tricky getting to the venue, so make sure you arrive with enough time to navigate, park, and find a seat.
Nope! It’s outdoors, and it may be a little chilly, so dress accordingly. The terrain is a little sandy/uneven, and my not be friendly to heels.
Unfortunately we’re not able to accommodate everyone to have a plus one. Unless we’ve spoken to you directly, please don’t invite anyone who isn’t specifically addressed on your invitation.
